Country music superstar Glen Campbell revealed that he was battling Alzheimer's in June of 2011, when he announced a farewell tour. The veteran entertainer played the final dates of that tour last year, and according to his family, they will stand as the final dates of his performing career. In a new interview, Campbell's wife and daughter share that the world-renowned singer and instrumentalist's disease has progressed to the point where he can no longer perform.

The life of legendary country singer George Jones will be the subject of an upcoming feature film. Los Angeles-based 28 Entertainment announced Tuesday (June 18) that it has acquired the rights to Jones' life story for an as-yet-untitled film project, for which Nancy Jones, the singer's wife of 30 years, will serve as a consultant and executive producer.

Billy Joe Shaver is one of the most influential songwriters in the modern history of country music. His songs have been cut by everyone from Elvis Presley to Kris Kristofferson and Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings' landmark 1973 album 'Honky Tonk Heroes' consists almost entirely of tracks he wrote. His debut solo album 'Old Five and Dimers Like Me' is considered a hallmark of the outlaw country movement in the '70s, and Willie Nelson considers him the greatest living songwriter in the world. But despite all those past accolades, the grizzled 73-year-old says the songs he's been working on for an upcoming album are the best he's ever written.

Even if you're not familiar with Chris Stapleton by name, you've heard his music. The Grammy-nominated musician has had more than 170 song cuts by artists as diverse as Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley and Adele, as well as co-writing with such luminaries as Vince Gill, Peter Frampton and Sheryl Crow. But fans are about to have a chance to get more familiar with Stapleton as a solo artist; on Monday (June 17) he shipped his first solo single to radio.

'What Are You Listening To?' is Stapleton's first solo single for Mercury Nashville, and it's already receiving acclaim from noted Nashville critic Robert Oermann, who called it "sublimely soulful" and dubbed Stapleton "the Next Great Vocalist in country music...his powerful singing has always deserved its own spotlight."

Kree Harrison hasn't been sitting around bored since placing second on 'American Idol' in May. She recently released her first single, she debuted on the Grand Ole Opry (with help from Keith Urban), and she even jumped up onstage with Wynonna Judd at a recent Nashville gig.
