George Jones Biopic Announced

The life of legendary country singer George Jones will be the subject of an upcoming feature film. Los Angeles-based 28 Entertainment announced Tuesday (June 18) that it has acquired the rights to Jones' life story for an as-yet-untitled film project, for which Nancy Jones, the singer's wife of 30 years, will serve as a consultant and executive producer.

But despite all those past accolades, the grizzled 73-year-old says the songs he's been working on for an upcoming album are the best he's ever written.

The Grammy-nominated musician has had more than 170 song cuts by artists as diverse as Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley and Adele, as well as co-writing with such luminaries as Vince Gill, Peter Frampton and Sheryl Crow.
