KRAZy Country Cares – Giving Back to the Heart of the Valley

At KRAZy Country, we believe in more than just playing your favorite country hits — we believe in supporting the community that makes the Santa Ynez Valley such a special place. That’s why we’ve launched KRAZy Country Cares, a heartfelt initiative in partnership with Buellton Garage, dedicated to shining a spotlight on local organizations and nonprofits that could use a helping hand.

Each month, we feature a different nonprofit, giving them the recognition they deserve and encouraging our listeners to get involved. This month’s recipient is the Santa Ynez Valley Youth Football League.
The YFL is a local nonprofit organization investing in the next generation by building teamwork, discipline, confidence, and leadership through youth football right here in our valley.

The Santa Ynez Valley Pirate Youth Football League has been one of the most popular youth sports organizations in the Santa Ynez Valley since the 1970's.  Years ago, Santa Ynez was part of Santa Barbara YFL and in 1985 John Hampson established Santa Ynez YFL.

Sine then, the league has developed as the stepping stone for young athletes to develop their skills prior to entering high school.  Our coaching volunteers fashion their playbooks to mirror the high school and try to instill Pirate Pride.

For years, the Pirate Youth Football League & Cheer was one of seven leagues that made up the Tri-Valley Youth Football Conference (TVYFC).  On July 25, 2016, the Tri-Valley Youth Football Conference was dissolved, and Pirate YFL is now part of the Central Coast Youth Football League (CCYFL).
