KRAZy Country Cares – Giving Back to the Heart of the Valley

At KRAZy Country, we believe in more than just playing your favorite country hits — we believe in supporting the community that makes the Santa Ynez Valley such a special place. That’s why we’ve launched KRAZy Country Cares, a heartfelt initiative in partnership with Buellton Garage, dedicated to shining a spotlight on local organizations and nonprofits that could use a helping hand.

Each month, we feature a different nonprofit, giving them the recognition they deserve and encouraging our listeners to get involved. This month, we’re proud to support the Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society & DAWG — two amazing organizations working tirelessly to protect and care for animals in our valley.

Whether through meal programs, housing assistance, transportation services, or emergency support, we remain committed to meeting the growing needs of the Santa Ynez Valley. With unwavering dedication, we strive to serve every individual with dignity and respect, ensuring that our community remains strong, supported, and connected.

The Santa Ynez Valley Community Outreach has been founded to promote the common good and general welfare of seniors, veterans, and at-risk communities in the Santa Ynez Valley by providing nutritional, recreational, and transportation resources.

For more than 45 years, SYV Community Outreach has been dedicated to serving the Santa Ynez Valley, ensuring that no one in our community goes without essential support. What began as a small effort to assist local seniors and families has grown into a lifeline for thousands of individuals in need.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for our services surged, highlighting just how vital our programs are to the well-being of our community. In 2020 alone, our food program grew by 174%, followed by another 10% increase in 2021. Today, our grocery program serves more than 1,500 people each week, providing nutritious food and critical resources to those facing hardship.

Our vision for the future is simple: to continue expanding our services so that no member of our community is left behind. Whether through meal programs, housing assistance, transportation services, or emergency support, we remain committed to meeting the growing needs of the Santa Ynez Valley. With unwavering dedication, we strive to serve every individual with dignity and respect, ensuring that our community remains strong, supported, and connected.

Support Megan and Enza's
Healing Journey

Friends, Family and SYV Community,

As many of you may or may not know, Megan and Enza Pecile were involved in a traffic accident on HWY 154 on Sunday, March 30th. Megan and Enza both sustained major injuries in the crash. Megan is now home and recovering from multiple injuries. Enza was taken to Valley Pediatric Center in Madera for further treatment to an injury to her spine. The situation with Enza's condition is fluid and changing all of the time. Currently, the medical staff are determining if surgery will be necessary to repair her spine injury amongst other concerns. The recovery process will be long and ever changing.

Thankfully Megan and Enza are ok. The family is facing a long road of healing and recovery. We have created this page in hope to assist them with the many financial hurdles that will be in the forefront in the coming months. We would be so grateful for any contributions to help this amazing family in this very trying time. Donations would go directly to travel to and from Valley Pediatric for follow up, rehabilitation, missed work and medical expenses.

We would be so grateful for any contributions that will help The Pecile Family in their journey towards healing and recovery. They would like to express that they are so thankful for everyone's messages and prayers over the past few days. Please keep them coming.

Thank you for your prayers and support.

Support
Carly Grace Howard

On Thursday, May 1, 2025, at approximately 6:53am in Santa Barbara, CA, Carly Grace Howard, 24, was in a serious car wreck. She was on her way to work when another individual drove their truck across the double yellow lines and collided with Carly head on. The California Highway Patrol has confirmed that the driver of the other vehicle was under the influence and has since been arrested for DUI, amongst other charges.

Carly suffered a devastating traumatic brain injury along with many bone breakages and fractures. She was extricated from the vehicle whilst unconscious and immediately taken to the hospital, where she underwent surgery to bring down the swelling of her brain.

Presently, Carly is heavily sedated and receiving ongoing life support measures. There is still much that is unknown, including the journey ahead, whatever that may be. This is a very serious injury, and there is still a definite cloud of uncertainty in her prognosis.

With heavy hearts and outstretched hands to the Lord for His blessings, we are creating this page. This life-altering event has cost, and will continue to cost, life-altering money. From the medical services already received, to whatever lies ahead and the unknown surrounding it, we are looking to the Lord for provision. Anything helps.

Thank you all for your prayers and donations. It means more to us than you could possibly know. Our daughter, baby sister, aunt, joy, and miracle. Our Carly.

- The Howard Family
